If you have received an ink cartridge or toner that does not work as intended, please review the guide below:

INK CARTRIDGE:

Before use

Make sure that the protective holder is removed from the cartridge
Make sure that the adhesive strip on the cartridge has been removed
Make sure that the cartridge is correctly installed in your printer

Cleaning program

Use the printers cleaning program before installing the ink cartridge in the printer. Run the cleaning program on a regular basis, as this ensures the best use of your printer and printer cartridges. Running the cleaning program also ensures that the nozzles do not dry up, thus avoiding clogs.

Blocked from printing

Some printers can be programmed to block printing, if you use a compatible ink cartridge. In case that happens, try one of the following solutions:

1) Print anyways and/or turn off the printer and turn it on again – with and without the ink cartridge installed in the printer.

2) Press down the ”reset”/”ok”/”print”/”enter” button down and hold it down for 5-10 seconds, after which you resume printing.

3) Run a cleaning program under printer settings, using your computer.

4) On the back of some printer cartridges is a small chip, which the printer uses to register the cartridge. Sometime the printer fails to recognize the cartridge, if the chip is dusty or slightly smudged, so use a soft cloth or tissue to wipe the chip clean.

5) Run the printer calibration program and/or adjust the ink cartridge program via your computer.

6) You can also put your used ink cartridge back in the printer, print one page, and replace it with the compatible cartridge.

7) Unplug the printer and leave the printer completely unplugged for 5 minutes. Reconnect the printer to power and restart the printer.

8) If the printer does not recognize the cartridges, try installing the old cartridges and replace the cartridges one by one in order to see which cartridge is faulty.

Ink level

While using compatible ink cartridges, some printers fail to show the correct ink level, and some printers will also tell you that the cartridge is empty. Do NOT change the cartridge until the print quality starts changing for the worse.

LASER TONER:

Before use

Make sure that the protective holder of the toner has been removed
Make sure that the adhesive strip has been removed
Make sure that the toner cartridge is correctly installed

Blocked from printing

2) Press down the ”reset”/”ok”/”print”/”enter” button down and hold it down for 5-10 seconds, after which you resume printing.

6) You can also put your used toner cartridge back in the printer, print one page, and replace it with the compatible cartridge.

Print quality

Some toner cartridges will produce prints, that have lines or where some of the print is missing. If this happens, remove the toner from the printer, shake it briskly, so that the toner powder is loosened inside the toner cartridge. Reinstall the toner cartridge in the printer and try again.

Ink level

While using compatible toner cartridges, some printers fail to show the correct toner level, and some printers will also tell you that the cartridge is empty. Do NOT change the cartridge until the print quality starts changing for the worse.

If your printer or cartridge keeps causing error codes or stop working entirely, your printer might need a reset to factory settings.
